The Challenge

How do you make global health challenges feel personal enough to spark action and local enough to build pride? Partners In Health (PIH) Liberia had stories to tell: of survival, justice, and transformation. But they lacked a unified visual and communication system that reflected their unique voice and culture.

Their social media presence needed to evolve from reactive posting to intentional storytelling that honoured PIH Liberia’s history, celebrated progress, and encouraged collective action.

The Solution

Future by Design created a bold, human-centred social media strategy and visual identity rooted in Liberian culture and PIH values.

Using vibrant, organic patterns and hand-drawn elements, we designed a suite of Canva templates that brought authenticity, energy, and cultural pride to every post.

We also helped PIH Liberia develop a system of structured content planning and caption templates, enabling the team to take ownership of their digital storytelling while staying aligned with the global PIH brand.

Our Journey with PIH

How do you turn content into a movement for health equity?

We began by asking: What makes PIH Liberia’s work different? The answer was clear, its people. From frontline health workers to government allies to patients whose lives have been transformed, these are the stories that deserve the spotlight.

Our role was to create the space, tools, and confidence for those stories to be told. We designed a refreshed visual identity rooted in Liberia’s culture and PIH’s global mission, using hand-drawn lines and organic patterns as visual signals of care, connection, and community.

Beyond design, we built a system: ready-to-use templates, content frameworks, and a strategy to help the team lead their storytelling every day. And over several months, we delivered in-depth training, writing for impact, communicating with intention, and designing accessible, emotion-led visuals that drive action.

The result is more than a refreshed identity. It’s a bold, culturally grounded presence that builds trust, attracts support, and helps transform content into a movement for health equity.

A word from our Creative Lead

It was such an honor to contribute to the meaningful mission of Partners In Health Liberia by creating visual communication that supports more impactful and resonant messaging.

The visuals pay tribute to Liberia’s identity and traditions while also establishing a modern design language that reflects the spirit of Partners In Health’s work in the country. To recognize this heritage, I created two patterns: one inspired by Country Cloth, reinterpreted through linear motifs, and another inspired by the 16 Tribal Masks of Liberia, expressed through a contemporary design approach.
