The Challenge

Creative direction and development of key assets for a campaign that inspires solidarity for climate action and raises awareness of the climate crisis. The #LoveLetterToMyPlanet campaign amplifies the voices of women leaders as its central focus.

The Solution

Our design approach centred on creating unique, authentic touches in the campaign to draw the association of a hand-written letter. Inspired by the concept of a stamp, we placed a woman at the centre, her hair flowing freely, surrounded by the campaign slogan. The campaign included tailored-made illustrations and motion designs distributed during the COP29 on Climate Change in Baku, Azerbaijan. The postcards featuring the campaign illustrations generated broad interest and resulted in a plan to create a digital space to send postcards as a love letter to our planet.

Our Journey with GCF on the “Love Letter” Campaign

We wanted this campaign to feel personal, like a real letter written from the heart. The idea of a stamp became our anchor, symbolising connection and individuality all at once. Inside it, we placed a woman with loose, flowing hair, a quiet nod to freedom, strength, and her bond with nature.

The palette, lush green with soft pink accents, brings a sense of vitality and optimism, reflecting women’s role in shaping a more caring, sustainable future. Each illustration touches on themes like health, food, water, transport, and community, all the things that make life possible, brought together in a warm, human visual story.

The campaign lived both online and offline. People could send their own Love Letters to the Planet through a website we built for Valentine’s Day, and at COP in Azerbaijan, over 1,000 handwritten letters were signed in person. It was a beautiful reminder of how deeply people care about nature, our shared home, and the simple wish to protect what we love.

Adding gentle motion to the illustrations gave them life and emotion, keeping their handcrafted soul intact. The result feels honest, heartfelt, and human, exactly what a love letter to the planet should be.

We must act now, not just to protect Earth for our sake, but to ensure that the children of today and tomorrow can live in a world where they can dream, glow and lead lives full of opportunity and hope.
