The Challenge

Conceptualise a campaign across print and digital platforms that highlights the key message of the organisation - to end the AIDS pandemic, addressing one of the main issues - stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV.

The Solution

A bold, bright, and to-the-point campaign for World AIDS Day that focused on the acceptance and protection of marginalised groups in society. The campaign was rolled out in four languages: English, Spanish, French and Dutch. The campaign aimed to educate and engage through creative newspaper ads, infographics and motion design on social media platforms.

The Results

16

countries and territories in the Caribbean participated in the campaign

14.3%

decrease of new HIV infections (2021-2023)

25%

decrease of AIDS-related deaths (2021-2023)

We are all in this together

How can we make a difference?

At Future by Design, we don’t do generic.

When UNAIDS asked us to create a regional campaign ahead of World AIDS Day, we knew we had to take a different approach. HIV awareness campaigns can often feel heavy, distant, or stigmatised, but we wanted to flip the script and create something bold, unapologetic, and visually magnetic.

Through vibrant motion design, punchy messaging, and a fearless approach to inclusivity, we built a campaign that put marginalised communities at the center. And because awareness knows no borders, we ensured it resonated in English, Spanish, French, and Dutch.

Color played a crucial role in this approach. The UNAIDS Caribbean project incorporates bold, recognisable regional colours—not just for aesthetics but as a deliberate choice to tackle this sensitive topic with an optimistic, solution-driven perspective. These colours help reframe the conversation, shifting the focus from stigma to empowerment and action.

The result? A campaign that doesn’t just inform—it engages. One that doesn’t tiptoe around the issue—it demands attention.
