The Solution

Layout and design of a series of documents for the Spotlight Initiative, including their annual report, communications strategy, and direction. Creative direction, writing, and design of their regular social media campaigns, focusing on amplifying the stories of incredible women and girls through motion design. In crafting the visual identity for the "I am #WithHer, are you?” regional campaign in Africa, our aim was to create a design that not only resonated visually but also evoked the powerful emotions at the heart of the initiative. We used a variation of red as the dominant colour to align with the organisation's established identity, ensuring brand consistency and immediate recognition. Red, within the context of this initiative, symbolises compassion, unity, and empowerment in the fight against violence against women.

The brush strokes, which dominate the campaign as a visual element, serve multiple purposes in the campaign's visual identity. First, they convey a sense of energy, reflecting the campaign's movement and momentum. The organic, hand-painted quality of the strokes symbolizes the human aspect of the initiative, representing individual stories and voices coming together to create change. By using these strokes for photo masking, the design highlights the subjects' individuality while connecting them to the broader narrative.
